No Sugar & Mirror Glaze. & Feige Flittchen

No Sugar Bio – englishFrom the ashes and hiatus of some of northern Germanys’ usual suspects in the diy-punk stomping grounds, such as Stumbling Pins, No Weather Talks and Plastic Propaganda, this four-piece from Hamburg / Leipzig is all about having fun with no more than three chords, eyeliner and the everlasting promises of Rock’n’Roll. Between the lines, No Sugar make it unmistakably clear that you can’t kick out the jams, if you don’t kick out toxic masculinity first. No Sugar like to celebrate this with playful citations of Rock’n’Roll-myths instead of trying to preach to the converted. Taking influences from the ditches of the last 5 decades of pop- (and punk!) culture and predecessors asdiverse as Bikini Kill, The Runaways, The Bronx, Hot Snakes or The Subways. Equipped with their debut album „Rock’n’Roll Isn’t Boring, It’s you“ and their upcoming sophomore effort „Last Call“ set to release in October 2024 on Sabotage & ??? in Europe (and Dirt Cult in Nort America???)! „Last Call“ - an albumtitle hinting not only at the well-known, colloquial situation many of us witness every other weekend, at our local watering hole of choice, but at the urgency of our current social and environmental crises. An urgency that can make us go numb and leave us feeling helpless, but that hopefully can also fan the flames of solidarity, when we come together, despite our differences and focus our energy on speaking up against the smallest occurrences of marginalization, discrimination, oblivousness to climate change, the surge of the conservatism and right-wing partys in Europe and the normalization of hate – in our everyday lives. Reflecting our privileges and becoming aware of our own limitations is just a small but essential start. + Mirror Glaze „A kooky flare-up with mental guitars, mental chords, and mental post-punk screams. It’s a weirdly groovy uppercut hi>ng you between the eyes while sounding like 70s New York’s new wavers Television aEer a 24-hour drink marathon.“ (turnupthevolume.blog) Eine treffende, kurze und fidele Beschreibung für Mirror Glaze aus Hamburg. + Feige Flittchen https://feigeflittchen.wixsite.com/feige-flittchen Einlass: 20:00 Uhr
